“When it comes to food safety, the true front lines in our battle against foodborne illness are the individual consumers making individual decisions about how he or she handles food. And the best weapon we can provide is knowledge. No one does that better than the Partnership.”
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture |
Support the Partnership for Food Safety Education’s “Be Food Safe” Campaign
At last count, more than 40 retailers from coast to coast have agreed to participate in an expansion of the Partnership for Food Safety Education’s “Be Food Safe” campaign. And as a PMA member, you can support the program and have access to the materials, for free. The expanded “Be Food Safe” campaign uses core consumer food safety messages of “Clean”, “Cook”, “Separate” and “Chill.” Bold new graphics are available for use by retailers and their suppliers that include in-store signage, brochures, fliers, packaging, and other materials. In recognition of PMA’s contributions to the campaign, PMA members are able to have access to the program for one year without having to pay the licensing fee. “Be Food Safe” is a joint program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Partnership for Food Safety Education. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, The Partnership for Food Safety Education (PFSE) is a coalition of the USDA, Food and Drug Administration, other federal agencies, consumer groups and trade associations including PMA. PMA President Bryan Silbermann is the current PFSE Chair. Sign up today by completing the application.
