Government Relations: Crisis Assistance

As the premier organization representing the global fruit and vegetable industry, PMA is actively involved in issues that affect the full distribution chain, the marketplace, or consumer issues.

PMA is committed to defending the image of the produce industry, particularly when the safety or healthfulness of produce is questioned. When a foodborne illness outbreak linked to fresh produce is identified, PMA informs its members via Issue Alerts and initiates media monitoring to observe trends in press coverage. PMA also assists its members with key messages they can share with customers and consumers who may have questions.
