International Resources: PMA International Representatives

As PMA’s membership grows across the globe PMA has established representatives to better extend its reach in those markets. Meet our representatives:

John Baker – PMA Representative in Australia and New Zealand

John Baker has over 30 years experience in fresh fruit and vegetable production and marketing. In the nine years prior to establishing Produce Marketing Australia in 1998, he was Managing Director (and previously Marketing Manager) of the Australian Horticultural Corporation (AHC), the national statutory marketing authority for the Australian horticultural industry.

Prior to that, he managed the Sydney wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower markets, and also had 18 years in agricultural extension and extension management. Through the AHC and Produce Marketing Australia he has represented PMA in Australia for over 15 years.

Alejandro Larreategui – PMA Representative in Mexico

Alex has more than 22 years of marketing experience through multinational companies like Colgate Palmolive and Pepsi, as well as Grupo Radio Centro, managing 6 leading radio stations in Mexico City. Since 1993, he has been involved with the produce industry, working with Grupo Savia in their Agribiotechnology division and Master’s Touch.

In 2000, he became an independent strategic marketing consultant for different leading exporting agribusinesses like WilsonBatiz and Grupo Alta as well as for the Mexican Department of Agriculture (SAGARPA); becoming a part-time representative for PMA in Mexico in September 2005.

Gustavo Yentzen – PMA Representative in Chile

Gustavo Yentzen is a Business Engineer graduate of the respected Adolfo Ibañez University, where he specialized in Marketing and Consumer Behavior. He has worked for companies like 3M and San Pedro winery. In 2001 he was appointed as Senior Marketing Manager by the Chilean Exporters Association, responsible for the Chilean fruit global image project. Between year 2001 and 2006 he developed and implemented the Chilean fresh fruit industry marketing campaign in the US and Canada; the campaign included a television campaign, a press relations strategy and the highly successful “Fruit, Wine and Salmon” cross promotion point-of-sale activities.

In 2006, Gustavo started his own business; Yentzen Consulting® which provides various services to the Ag-Industry both in South America, North America and Europe. He has been serving as PMA’s Representative in Chile since December 2006.
