On September 14, 2007, you could receive letters from the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

These letters could mean fines, jail time, and more.
Are you ready? Do you know how to respond?

Here’s how to make sure:

It’s important. It’s sweeping. And in just a few days, it could significantly impact your ability to harvest, package, ship, sell and serve fresh produce in an efficient and timely manner… and more. The Department of Homeland Security’s new Social Security No Match Regulation goes into effect September 14, 2007. Yet many of us may not be fully ready for it.

PMA offers a solution. On Wednesday, September 5 at 2:00pm EDT, you are invited to attend a special Webinar entitled Understanding the New Department of Homeland Security Social Security No Match Regulation.

Here is the reason you should definitely plan to join us:

As you know, the Social Security Administration issues thousands of “no-match” notices a year to employers when employee names and Social Security numbers do not match. Now, under the new "No-Match Letter" regulation employers will have to act on the letters and take steps to clear up discrepancies within 90 days, or risk large fines and even jail.

How can you successfully navigate these changes? This Webinar gives you the opportunity to hear from some of the leading experts on this subject right in the privacy of your office or conference room.

Speakers include Mary E. Pivec, a partner at Keller and Heckman LLP, in Washington, DC, with more than 25 years experience advising public and private employers on a broad variety of employment and workplace issues;

Al Cates, vice president of human resources and continuous improvement, Castellini Companies.

Lee Mannering, PMA’s point person on issues such as immigration reform, food security and transportation, will moderate the session.

Nowhere else will you be able to ask crucial questions and get the answers you need on this critical new rule. You will:

  • Fully comprehend the rules and what you must do if you get no-match letters.
  • Understand the penalties of not responding.
  • Learn about a system that has helped one industry leader avoid no-match issues.
  • Find out how you can take action now to assure a more-favorable labor environment.
