PMA Foundation for Industry Talent (FIT) and the Leadership Symposium.
The success of the produce industry has been built upon the strength, wisdom, and leadership of many dedicated individuals. In short, good people have made this industry great! To ensure future success, PMA created the PMA Foundation for Industry Talent, an independent 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2006.
The Foundation's purpose is to attract, develop and retain talent for the produce community. The PMA FIT helps sustain the future of the produce industry by creating and administering programs that:
- attract bright, talented individuals to work in this multi-faceted industry
- develop and maximize leadership skills of produce industry employees and prepare them to be the industry’s next leaders; and
- assist produce companies in enhancing their cultures and business practices to retain their top talent
In response to the need to prepare our industry’s professionals for their next level of leadership, the Foundation is developing a Leadership Institute that will house a series of leadership offerings designed to accelerate and enhance employee performance. The Leadership Symposium is one of many programs that will fall under the Leadership Institute umbrella. Additional programs targeting emerging leaders, women, and global leaders will be developed in the future.
