The PMA Impact Award: Recognizing Excellence in Packaging

Terms and Conditions

A. AWARD DEFINITION
The PMA Impact Award: Excellence in Packaging will be presented to companies recognized for packaging excellence in the fresh produce and floral industry in the areas of Food Safety, Supply Chain Efficiencies, Functionality/Technology, Environment/Sustainability, Marketing Design, and Marketing Messaging/Content.

B. AWARD ORGANIZER
The award is sponsored and promoted by the Produce Marketing Association.

C. DEADLINE FOR NOMINATION
The deadline to submit all entries is September 1, 2008.

D. NOMINATION PROCESS/CHECKLIST
Reference the following specifics:

1. Complete and electronically submit the PMA Impact Award: Excellence in Packaging Nomination Form.
2. Submit/attach an electronic version of your company logo @ 300 dpi.
3. Submit/attach an electronic photo of your packaging entry @ 300 dpi.
4. Print out a paper copy of the Packaging Entry Sample Shipping Form to send with your packaging entry sample(s).
5. Prepare one (1) packaging entry nomination sample - No product please (combine with #4 for mailing/shipping)
6. Mail/ship your completed Packaging Entry Sample Shipping Form and packaging entry sample to:

E. ELIGIBILITY FOR NOMINATION
Any PMA member company engaged in fresh produce or floral sales may have their packaged product nominated for the award. Multiple nominations are permitted for a company, but must be submitted through individual nomination forms. All nominated packaging concepts must be commercially traded at the time of submission.

F. PARTICIPATION EXPENSE
There is no cost associated with participation in the award process OTHER THAN the cost for you to mail/ship your entry forms and packaging nomination samples.

G. SELECTION PROCESS:
An independent selection committee will examine the nominees' packaged product and nomination information and narrow each category down to a maximum of 5 finalists who will be presented to the judging panel for the final selection of a winner.

H. JUDGING PANEL
An independent, third-party judging panel with significant professional experience in the fresh produce and packaging industries will be selected by the Produce Marketing Association. PMA will oversee all phases of the judging process to ensure competence, impartiality, and fairness of the panel.

I. FINALIST NOTIFICATION
All finalists will be notified by phone or email on or before September 21, 2008.

J. AWARD PRESENTATION
The winners will be announced at PMA's Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition during the Breakfast General Session on October 25, 2008.

K. AWARD EXPOSITION
All award recipients will be recognized at PMA's Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition. Each recipient's winning packaged product will be displayed at a designated area.

L. CONFIDENTIALITY
All documentation and photography submitted in connection with the nomination and judging process shall remain confidential for the entrant, the judging panel, and PMA's award organizers. In the event your packaging entry nomination is selected as one of the 30 finalists (5 in each category), we request your agreement to provide PMA with the following:

1. A sample of your winning packaging entry nomination with product for display at the 2008 PMA Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition in Orlando, Florida.
2. A designated company representative for photo opportunities.
