Restaurant grades are the latest health initiative by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Health officials are inspecting restaurants on their normal inspection cycle, so they estimate it will be about a year before a grade appears on every eatery. The grading system will cost the department's inspection program an additional $1.2 million.
