Small farms such as Amy's Garden, a 70-acre organic farm in Virginia, are gaining customers as interest in eating locally grown food increases. When the farm started offering community-supported agriculture subscriptions in 2002, 40 people signed up; now there are 75 who receive what's in season in exchange for a set fee.
