Have a routine
You can find some great tips about how to develop your morning routine here. Start the day with a coffee, a walk around the block and break the day up with lunch away from your desk.
It's easy to find yourself glued to your work computer, especially when it's in your common living space. Set boundaries and work times and learn to shut off your work phone, laptop and emails.
Use your usual commute time to switch off
Usually spend an hour on the train? Thankful you're not stuck in a traffic jam every morning? Well use this time to really switch off. Take an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon (or however long your commute usually takes) to disconnect from the screen.
Wake up those endorphins! Women in the group found that starting the day with some Downward Dog helped clear the mind and reset your focus for work. Missing your social running group? Have you thought about connecting with them on a virtual run? One of our Members Tahiri McLeod from Dicky Bill has created a great Facebook Group to get you up and going for 19 minutes of each day.
Be kind and forgiving to yourself
Take time for yourself, make a tea and settle for 5 minutes before starting a huge work task. Be understanding that some situations are out of your control and accept that sometimes its ok to not be ok. Remind yourself that you're doing the best job possible within the circumstances.
Step away from the screen
Yep, even your phone! Disconnect with your screen to give eyes a rest, turn your brain onto silent mode. It may even mean eating lunch outside, going for a walk or calling a friend for a chat.
