We can’t wait to get back together in person in Monterey July 21-22. Creating a healthy and COVID-appropriate environment for all guests, staff, and vendors attending our event is of utmost importance to PMA. Even as we prepare for the long-awaited in-person foodservice event, we are monitoring the pandemic. We are working closely with health, government, facility, and other authorities to meet/exceed public health and safety protocols, revising requirements as needed.

PMA monitors requirements and guidance from U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the state of California, the city/county of Monterey, and the conference center and hotels.

The hotels and conference center have their own stringent cleaning/disinfection services, rules about guest conduct in public spaces (e.g. mask wearing and social distancing), and revised access to amenities and services. You can find up-to-date specifics for them and the Monterey Bay area here:

The conference will look different from years past as we implement our own exhibit, session, and networking protocols to keep you safe. At the conference, PMA will have information that details expectations for guests, staff, and vendors. We have waited a long time to get back together, and these behavior expectations are what allow us to do so.

  • Everyone must wear a face mask.
  • The expo floor has been modified to control crowd density for safe, socially distant interactions.
  • There will be reduced/monitored capacity in each room based on local and event industry guidelines.
  • All booths will be separated by 6 feet.
  • Aisles throughout the show space will be 15 to 20 feet wide. 
  • Directional signage will aid traffic flow. 
  • Based on current guidelines, up to two representatives may staff each booth
