Carlos joined the floral industry in 1993, and spent several years in sales and marketing roles before co-founding Gems in 2003.  He serves as board member and past president of the Association of Floral Importers of Florida, and is the current Vice Chair of the PMA Floral Council. Carlos received his BBA from Florida International University, his MIBA from Nova Southeastern University, and has been a Vistage member since 2009.  He loves volunteering and is actively involved in Catholic ministry, parish advisory boards, and has co-hosted a weekly Spanish Catholic radio show.  He has been married to Graysy for almost 20 years, and they have 2 children Michael and Brianna.

Lauren M. Scott joined PMA as CMO in October 2016. Lauren has more than 20 years of experience in the consumer products industry. Prior to PMA, Lauren worked at PepsiCo and Diageo in a variety of marketing roles with increasing responsibility including brand management, foodservice, activation, field marketing, national promotions, cultural branding, global innovation and strategy. She began her career as a four-year Inroads intern and full-time hire in sales at Colgate-Palmolive. Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Rutgers University, a master of business administration from University of Maryland and a master’s in strategic communication from Columbia University, where she continues as a graduate project adviser. Lauren also actively coaches and mentors. A self-described foodie, Lauren's civic passions include combating food insecurities and perpetuating arts and culture.
