From his beginnings working in sugar beet fields in California with his family, to his acceptance in 2004 in the astronaut candidate class, José Hernández has reached for the stars. He wanted to fly in space since high school when he heard that a Hispanic-American had been selected for the space program. Come hear how Hernández was selected by NASA and reached the stars on mission STS-128 aboard the space shuttle Discovery, and how his experiences have led him to his current position as an advisor to the Méxican Space Agency and as the founder of the José M. Hernández Foundation: Reaching for the Stars.
