PMA Fresh Connections: Floral Miami
"No more business as usual" was the overarching message at PMA's Fresh Connections: Floral Miami. More than 200 participants gathered at the DoubleTree Hotel in Miami on July 12 to explore how market forces are disrupting the entire floral supply chain.
Floral Buyer Roundtables on July 11 drew a sold-out crowd of floral suppliers who had the valuable opportunity to meet one-on-one with buyers from leading retailers.
The full-day educational program that followed focused on seismic shifts taking place in the marketing, technology and retail sectors of the floral business. Keynote speaker Shawna Suckow, buyer behavior expert with The Buyer Insider, translated consumer trends and buying habits into actionable strategies for floral suppliers and retailers. The rest of the sessions offered a look at how companies are responding to disruptions and turning them into business success.
PMA's floral education team even disrupted the program itself — adding surprising elements and creating opportunities for participants to collaborate in discussion groups and brainstorming activities designed to develop innovative solutions. By the end of the day, participants had their own concrete action steps that they could take back to their companies.
