Fresh Connections: Floral Miami
Fresh Connections: Floral Miami, once again provided a key opportunity for cut flower and potted plant growers, importers and wholesalers to connect with retail buyers seeking new innovative products and services. More than 200 attendees from across the supply chain gathered for learning and networking.
On July 12 we kicked off with Floral Buyer Roundtable, where floral suppliers met one-on-one with retail buyers seeking new products in a “speed dating” format. The actual Fresh Connections began on July 13th with one of the educational sessions focused on consumer trends and what they mean for floral sales. Katie DuBow, Garden Media Group’s creative director, spoke about what’s new in decorating, outdoor living and gardening. She shared how these trends prompt consumers to buy cut flowers and potted plant products for their homes.
The second session hosted by moderator Joe Don Zetzsche, H-E-B Director of Floral and Blooms, delved further into the trends to showcase new varieties and products that growers and retailers can leverage to increase sales. Jamie Kitz of Sakata Seed America, Juan David Lecuona of Deliflor Latin America, Victor Ponce of Rosen Tantau Ecuador and Bas Pellenaars of Dümmen Orange were the panelists.
Fresh Connections: Floral Miami began and ended, appropriately, with networking receptions designed to spark new business relationships.
We thank the attendees, sponsors, and speakers who made Fresh Connections: Floral Miami such a success. Stay tuned for information about the 2018 event!
